Sutradara legendaris Hollywood, yaitu Steven Spielberg, kembali lagi pada 2021 dengan karya terbaru yang berjudul West Side Story (2021). Film ini berhasil mendapatkan empat nominasi Golden Globe 2022, di antaranya “Best Picture – Musical/Comedy”, “Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy”, “Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture”, dan “Best Director – Motion Picture”.
Setelah merilis daftar nominasi pada Desember 2021, malam puncak Golden Globe 2022 akhirnya digelar pada 9 Januari 2022. West Side Story ternyata berhasil menyabet tiga penghargaan dari empat nominasi yang telah mereka dapatkan.
