Ajang Golden Globe Awards siap kembali digelar pada 2024 mendatang. Salah satu ajang penghargaan paling bergengsi dalam industri persinemaan ini telah mengumumkan deretan film dan serial yang masuk ke nominasinya. Nantinya, pemenang dari setiap nominasi tersebut akan diumumkan pada gelaran Golden Globes 2024 yang berlangsung pada 7 Januari mendatang.
Pada gelaran Golden Globes 2024, film Barbie (2023) yang dibintangi oleh Margot Robbie berhasil mendominasi dengan meraih total sembilan nominasi di kategori film. Beberapa nominasi tersebut antara lain adalah “Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” dan “Best Director – Motion Picture” untuk Greta Gerwig. Sementara itu, di kategori TV ada serial Succession yang turut mendominasi dengan sembilan nominasi.
Golden Globes 2024 juga jadi gelaran pertama yang pada setiap kategori ada enam nominasi, bukan lima lagi seperti biasanya. Selain itu, Golden Globes 2024 juga punya dua kategori baru, yaitu “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement” dan “Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television”. Kategori “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement” pun diisi oleh film paling terkenal, berpenghasilan tertinggi, dan/atau paling banyak ditonton yang telah mendapatkan dukungan penonton global yang luas dan mencapai keunggulan sinematik.
